ARSENAL 1-1 LIVERPOOL : CESC INJURED!Sad news. Cesc Fabregas was injured in a 50-50 tackle with Xabi Alonso during Sunday draw at home to Liverpool. He appeared to go in to the tackle at full-stretch and Alonso, who was running, connected with the ball and Cesc’s knee. Of all people to clear the ball why isit had to be Cesc. His studs appeared to go into Cesc’s knee. It was an unfortunate accident, and Alonso visited Cesc straight after the final whistle to check on how he was doing. This will be the first major injury that Cesc facing after 5 season with the Gunners. Report stating that Cesc will be out for at least 2 months and will undergo surgery on his right knee. Well let's just hope for his speedy recovery for our skipper.
XABI WISHES CESC WELL.
Xabi Alonso has told media, "I'm hoping for a rapid recovery for Cesc. Now comes the most tedious bit, the recuperation, but I will be there encouraging him."
He added : "If anything happened, I'm even more upset than Fabregas is. It always affects me to see a companion injured, but especially if it is a friend and a national team-mate like Cesc."
"I already went to see him after the game, a from what he told me we both expected it was something serious. But on Monday I spoke with him again and, bearing in mind the situation, he was in quite good spirits."
On the challenge between himself and Cesc that caused the injury, Xabi added : "It was just another incident of the game and, of there was no malicious intent."

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is set to be sidelined until April with a knee injury. The Spaniard had to be substituted at half-time in Arsneal's 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Sunday following a challenge with Xabi Alonso. The full extent of the damage has now been revealed, with Arsene Wenger confirming that he has a partial rupture of the medial knee ligament. Fabregas has only recently returned to fitness following a problem with the same knee and he will now miss most of the rest of the season. He will have to sit out a crucial period of the Premier League as well as Arsenal's UEFA Champions League tie against Roma. Fabregas replaced William Gallas as Arsenal captain in November and Wenger admits it is a mojor blow to lose him.
